ONE OF THE BASIC DUTIES OF MUNICIPALITIES IS TO SECURE A FUNCTIONAL WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. IN THIS AREA INTERESTS OF CITIZENS, MUNICIPALITIES, OPERATORS OF WASTE DISPOSAL, WASTE INCINERATOR AND WASTE RECOVERY SITES, AS WELL AS GOVERNMENT AND EU ARE CLOSELY INTERLINKED.

CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES ARE OBLIGED TO RESPECT EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL LEGISLATIVE NORMS AS THEY MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT THE SYSTEMS TO BE USED. AT THE SAME TIME THEY HAVE TO TAKE INTO ACC OUNT PUBLIC OPINION AND THEIR OWN FINANCIAL POSSIBILITIES.

IT IS ALWAYS AN ADVANTAGE TO HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO OBJECTI-VELY COMPARE EXISTING SOLUTIONS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF:

MAPPING AND PRESENTING EXPERIENCE WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF VARIOUS PROJECTS IN THE AREA OF WASTE MANAGEMENT ACROSS EUROPE IS THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE 6TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL EXPERT CONFERENCE ENVIRO-MANAGEMENT 2012.

Hotel Patria is located close to Štrbské Pleso in Vysoké Tatry (High Tatras) and can be accessed by road from Poprad through the town of Starý Smokovec or Štrba.

Using highways and high speed roads in Slovakia is charged through a vignette. Cars are obliged to have the lights on also during the day.
