Waste from road to rail: Experiences from a long-term project, and outlook.
– Mandatory rail transport of certain wastes from 2023 in (and through) Austria.

Presun odpadu z ciest na železnicu: Skúsenosti z dlhodobého projektu a výhľady do budúcnosti.
– Povinná železničná preprava určitých odpadov od roku 2023 v (a cez) Rakúsku.

ANNOTATION

The presentation gives a brief overview of the provisions in the Austrian Waste Management Act 2002 regarding the shift of waste transport from road to rail.
The tasks of the aufschiene.gv.at platform are also outlined.

LECTURER'S PROFILE

Law studies at the University of Vienna.
Since 1989 she has worked at the Ministry of the Environment. Since 1994 she has been Head of the Department of Waste and Contaminated Sites Law.
The 1st Environmental Attaché in Brussels, Secondment to the English Department of the Environment.
Technical Responsibility in the context of the EU Presidency 2018 regarding the Single-Use Plastics Directive.
Lecturer at the Academy Course on Greening at the Federal Pedagogical Institute. Specialist author of relevant publications and speaker on topics of national and EU, Co-editor and co-author of Bergthaler/Wolfslehner (eds.), The Law of Waste Management (2002), co-editor and co-author of the commentary on the AWG Waste Management Act 2002.
