His master thesis dealt with a waste management concept for Cairo. Also at the Technical University of Berlin, he received his PhD in the faculty of Statistics.
              \nFor more than thirty years, he has been working for the Land Brandenburg in different positions, in which he for instance was seconded to Romania\u2019s Ministry of Environment and to the Waste Department of the European Commission.
