The Amendment to the Act on Environmental Impact Assessment through Act No. 69\/2023 Coll., which supplements Act no. 24\/2006 Coll. on the assessment of environmental impacts and on the amendment of certain laws as amended and on the amendment of certain laws should simplify and speed up the assessment process due to the connection with the permitting process for buildings and operations subject to impact assessment. The aim of the amendment to the law, proposed by the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic, is to eliminate the problems of the administrative process resulting from practice, to adapt the processes to the new legislation in the field of construction and spatial planning, to shorten proceedings and ensure higher professionalism of the state administration, as well as to adjust the process in terms of notifications of the European Commission. He worked in internationally composed teams for international institutions, governmental project implementation units, regional authorities, beneficiaries of EU technical and financial assistance in in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary and the Republic of South Africa.
\nSince 1993, he has been working as an independent consultant, expert advisor, manager, team leader\/deputy team leader, coordinator, lecturer\/trainer, analyst and evaluator within international interventions co-financed by the EU (PHARE, CARDS, ISPA\/IPA, SF&CF, ESIF, and EU\/IFIs mixed funds), has practical experience in the preparation and evaluation of technical assistance projects, investment projects, institutional strengthening and capacity building projects, and public administration reform projects. He performed environmental audits and public procurement with the application of international procurement rules (PRAG, FIDIC). He has practical work experience in assessing the impact of strategic documents and infrastructure projects on the environment and environmental assessment of national and international programs and projects.
