This form of renewable energy, produced through the fermentation of organic materials such as agricultural waste, municipal waste or sewage sludge, offers numerous economic and environmental benefits.<\/p>\n

On 21 May 2024, the European Council approved a package of measures for the hydrogen and decarbonised gas market. The aim is to shift from fossil natural gas to renewable and low-carbon gases and promote their use in the EU by 2030 and beyond. EU Member States are required to transpose the new rules into national legislation by mid-2026. Once implemented, these rules will facilitate the deployment of renewable and low-carbon gases, including hydrogen, while ensuring security of supply and affordability of energy for all EU citizens. Their access to markets and infrastructure will be improved, and greater transparency and more efficient use of spare capacity in LNG terminals and gas storage facilities will be ensured.<\/p>\n

Slovakia has significant untapped biomass potential, accounting for approximately one-third of all extracted or produced materials. However, biomass is predominantly used for low value-added food and non-food purposes, highlighting the need for more efficient processing and higher valorization of this raw material. Poor inter-sectoral coordination In Slovakia further hinders the holistic management of natural resources. The underexploited potential of biomass and biowaste limits opportunities for higher added value and reduces the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n

Biomethane projects can provide significant economic benefits to local communities by creating jobs in the production, maintenance and operation of biomethane facilities. These facilities can be established in regions rich in sources of organic waste, supporting the local economy and increasing resilience to economic shocks.<\/p>\n

The BioPark Slovakia association fosters partnerships, provides support and promotes bioeconomy initiatives in the Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica region – one of the poorest regions in Slovakia. Activities such as mapping raw material potential, optimizing collection, digitizing processes and improving logistics are already contributing to significant biomass recovery (e.g. production of growing substrates and organic-mineral fertilizers). This effort is gradually transformed into combined energy and material recovery through biomethane and renewable energy production. Cie\u013eom je prejs\u0165 od fos\u00edlneho zemn\u00e9ho plynu na plyny z obnovite\u013en\u00fdch zdrojov a n\u00edzkouhl\u00edkov\u00e9 plyny a podpori\u0165 ich vyu\u017e\u00edvanie v E\u00da do roku 2030 a v nasleduj\u00facom obdob\u00ed. Krajiny E\u00da musia transponova\u0165 nov\u00e9 pravidl\u00e1 do vn\u00fatro\u0161t\u00e1tneho pr\u00e1va do polovice roka 2026. Po transpoz\u00edcii u\u013eah\u010dia zav\u00e1dzanie obnovite\u013en\u00fdch a n\u00edzkouhl\u00edkov\u00fdch plynov vr\u00e1tane vod\u00edka a z\u00e1rove\u0148 zaistia bezpe\u010dnos\u0165 dod\u00e1vok a cenov\u00fa dostupnos\u0165 energie pre v\u0161etk\u00fdch ob\u010danov E\u00da. Zlep\u0161\u00ed sa ich pr\u00edstup na trhy a k infra\u0161trukt\u00fare, zabezpe\u010d\u00ed sa vy\u0161\u0161ia transparentnos\u0165 a lep\u0161ie vyu\u017e\u00edvanie vo\u013en\u00fdch kapac\u00edt v termin\u00e1loch LNG a z\u00e1sobn\u00edkoch plynu.<\/p>\n

Slovensko m\u00e1 ve\u013ek\u00fd nevyu\u017eit\u00fd potenci\u00e1l biomasy, ktor\u00e1 predstavuje pribli\u017ene tretinu v\u0161etk\u00fdch extrahovan\u00fdch alebo vyroben\u00fdch materi\u00e1lov. Av\u0161ak biomasa je preva\u017ene vyu\u017e\u00edvan\u00e1 na potravinov\u00e9 a nepotravinov\u00e9 \u00fa\u010dely s n\u00edzkou pridanou hodnotou, \u010do poukazuje na potrebu efekt\u00edvnej\u0161ieho spracovania a vy\u0161\u0161ej valoriz\u00e1cie tejto suroviny. Na Slovensku existuje slab\u00e1 koordin\u00e1cia medzi sektormi, \u010do br\u00e1ni holistick\u00e9mu riadeniu pr\u00edrodn\u00fdch zdrojov. Nedostato\u010dne vyu\u017e\u00edvan\u00fd potenci\u00e1l biomasy a bioodpadu obmedzuje dosahovanie vy\u0161\u0161ej pridanej hodnoty, a t\u00fdm aj konkurencieschopnos\u0165 v po\u013enohospod\u00e1rskom sektore.<\/p>\n

Biomet\u00e1nov\u00e9 projekty m\u00f4\u017eu zabezpe\u010di\u0165 nezanedbate\u013en\u00e9 ekonomick\u00e9 pr\u00ednosy lok\u00e1lnym komunit\u00e1m t\u00fdm, \u017ee vytv\u00e1raj\u00fa pracovn\u00e9 miesta vo v\u00fdrobe, \u00fadr\u017ebe a spr\u00e1ve biomet\u00e1nov\u00fdch zariaden\u00ed. Tieto zariadenia m\u00f4\u017eu by\u0165 zriaden\u00e9 v regi\u00f3noch s bohat\u00fdmi zdrojmi organick\u00fdch odpadov, \u010do podporuje lok\u00e1lnu ekonomiku a zvy\u0161uje jej odolnos\u0165 vo\u010di ekonomick\u00fdm \u0161okom.<\/p>\n

Z\u00e1ujmov\u00e9 zdru\u017eenie BioPark Slovakia vytv\u00e1ra partnerstv\u00e1, podporu a\u00a0inici\u00e1ciu banskobystrick\u00e9ho regi\u00f3nu v\u00a0oblasti biohospod\u00e1rstva. Jedn\u00e1 sa o\u00a0jeden z\u00a0najchudobnej\u0161\u00edch regi\u00f3nov Slovenska. Mapovanie surovinov\u00e9ho potenci\u00e1lu, optimaliz\u00e1cia zberu, digitaliz\u00e1cia procesov, kumul\u00e1cie a\u00a0logistiky u\u017e teraz prin\u00e1\u0161a v\u00fdznamn\u00e9 materi\u00e1lov\u00e9 zhodnotenie biomasy (v\u00fdroba pestovate\u013esk\u00fdch substr\u00e1tov a\u00a0organicko-miner\u00e1lnych hnoj\u00edv). To sa postupne transformuje na kombinovan\u00e9 energeticko-materi\u00e1lov\u00e9 zhodnotenie v\u00fdrobou biomet\u00e1nu a energie z\u00a0obnovite\u013en\u00fdch zdrojov.
